Here's sort of a tricky aspect of color identity in Commander:
903.5d. A card with a basic land type may be included in a Commander deck only if each color of mana it could produce is included in the commander's color identity.
That means in your mono-white deck you can run Windswept Heath, but not Savannah. (Note: Basic lands have no rules text. The ability to tap for a color is part of the game rules for objects of a basic land type.)
It also means you can't run 1 swamp, island, plains, and mountain in your mono green deck to power up your Tromp the Domains.
